Vaibhav Gupta is a young marketing maverick who had an early start towards his work by carving out a niche for himself in the e-commerce industry. While most teenagers at his age were busy figuring out what to do next, he was already hands on at his career. He did his schooling from The Scindia School, Fort Gwalior and further persuaded his graduation from Delhi University in Economics. He is passionate about reading biographies and socializing.
With about 5 years of work experience today as Sales & Marketing Head of Shakumbhari, he has been able to build brand stability with his active supervision and brand recognition in the best way possible. With the aim to work with precision and using state-of- the art product equipment, Mr. Gupta always looks forward to render the best quality. He visions to take Shakumbhari to a height where women with varied fashion styles could easily rely on without considering price as a hindrance. To provide customer satisfaction in every possible manner is his major concern and at the same time to cater the needs of his demanding customers by offering versatility in outfits, ranging from traditional to western wear under one umbrella is prime for him.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
We design, manufacture and retail women’s apparels. Our garments capture the modernity of fashion while embracing the ethnicity of the Modern Indian Women.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
The trend of salwar kameez and sarees in ethnic wear was taking a shift towards readymade kurtis and leggings. Instead of going for stitching, women these days prefer wearing leggings and palazzo pants. Therefore, we tried to render satisfaction to our customers by offering varied options in styles & designs in mix and match kurtis for the women of today.
What is your life mantra?
Go Big or Go Home.
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
The most challenging part was for me to find the right blend between the latest fashion trends of today and the ethnic values of our country ageing thousands of years. It is still a challenge today, with the ever changing fashion industry.
How did you overcome those challenges?
Through engaging directly with our end customer, understanding in detail what they want and how they want it. It is an ongoing process and I still learn a lot today too when I get in touch with our valued customers.

We have a fully family funded business.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
We try to keep our mission and vision of our company clear in our head and of our team. We try to mix this into the culture of our company on a daily basis. This helps us in fighting the Brain Drain.

I generally start work early, hence by the time I reach office; I am already done with my daily emails and general follow-ups. This gives me the rest of the entire day to focus more on our ongoing projects.

I want to start taking up more phone calls than I normally do. You never know when an opportunity may come knocking in.

What are your plans for next 3 years?
We plan to go on a steady speed for the next 3 years, focus and improve our operational level efficiencies, and then eventually venture into EBOs.
