Kunal Modi did Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans Sardar Patel College Of Engineering. After that, he did post-graduate diploma in management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
Ubika Dev did post-graduate diploma in management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Over the years, she has accumulated vast experience by working for companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Merrill Lynch, and Lodha Group.
When the duo decided to launch a startup, they faced a major challenge of finding the right professionals at the right price. To address this problem, Kunal and Ubika conceptualized InstaTaskers, which connects businesses requiring short-term services to curated Freelancers and Agencies who provide these services.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
We connect businesses requiring short-term services to curated Freelancers and Agencies who provide these services. Think of us as outsourced BD arm for freelancers / agencies. The most value-added feature is our ability to match clients’ requirement, budget, and timeline with our Taskers’ capabilities, price point, and bandwidth.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
When we decided to startup, finding right people at the right price for various services was a major challenge. There are many options available in the market, in fact, there is information overload. The idea behind InstaTaskers is to structure the information in a manner that is readily consumable by the demand in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.
What is your life mantra?
Especially for new-age startups, “Don’t think too much, you might create a problem that was never existent”
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Getting the first set of Taskers to understand and believe in the idea took the maximum effort. But it was effort well spent as every question that we faced helped us improve our solution and communication.
How did you overcome those challenges?
Staying consistent in intention and building a sustainable model helped us sail through. Once the trust is established, everything else follows.
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.
We believe in sustainable businesses built on organic growth. We would rather that our Clients and Taskers stay invested with us. We are not looking for financial investments at this time.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
We are a very small team right now and haven’t faced these issues till now.

Persistence, perseverence and honesty.

I keep answering my emails as I see them, there are no read but unresponded emails in my mailbox for more than a few minutes.

What are your plans for next 3 years?
InstaTaskers is poised to grow exponentially for next few years. My plan is to be the harbinger that clears the way ahead.

Not really, things have paid off well
