Shivank Agarwal did his Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Over the years, he has accumulated vast experience in the field of software engineering by working for companies like Winshuttle, Vedantu, KaBloom, and more.
His entrepreunerialspirit enabled Shivank to become the co-founder of BufferInfinite along with his most recent startup, OYEFit, which provides users access to a variety of services offered by our partner fitness clubs, including 150+ clubs in Bangalore.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
OYOFit provides users access to a variety of services offered by our partner fitness clubs. We have already tied up with 150+ clubs in Bangalore. We let users discover and pay only for the sessions they are utilizing. Also, using our app, users will have the option to select from a wide range of classes – Gym, Yoga, Aerobics, Dance etc. We also offer customized monthly membership to the users which lets users select fitness centers and services of their choices.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
We had a family-run gym at my hometown. We faced the similar issues of members dropping out every month which required continuous burn on marketing expenses. When I came to Bangalore 3 years back, I faced the similar issue here as well. I started working on the product 6 months back.
What is your life mantra?
You don’t need a lot of funding and a big team to succeed. A small and passionate team is all you require. When you are facing resource crunch, always remember Pandavas were also only 5.
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Keeping the team motivated even at times when you are completely demotivated.
How did you overcome those challenges?
To look motivated, you have to fake your feeling sometimes for good :P.
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.
We have put the seed round ourselves and from our family. We raised our first angel round from Mr. RN Agarwal, MD Wep Peripherals.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
Make each employee working with you feel as a co-founder and give them enough responsibility along with work. Fun will automatically flow.
According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?
Only 1 quality is required – Passion that won’t let you sleep at night.
Which online tools/ services/ apps do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?
We use Leadsquared for leads management, Razorpay for payment, Github for code repo, Google apps for business for emails, slides, docs and sheets, SurveyMonkey for carrying out surveys and Jira for project management.
