Becoming a business woman was one of the biggest dream of Roshni ever since her childhood. Her success story is a result of her sheer dedication and drive to put all her energies to build a brand where it becomes a benchmark for innovation, growth and customer satisfaction. From the early days of her career, she has always been inclined towards fashion and creativity, but her real credence was hidden in some other arena. Being a science graduated and an NIFT diploma holder, she went on to gain ample experience across various domains in the merchandising sector.
Nevertheless after giving 100% devotion to her family for more than eight years, she went on to start her own venture Little Charms that deals in personalized kid’s room décor, soft furnishings, bath linen and birthday return gifts. Being the owner of Little Charms has given her loads of insights into being an entrepreneur who chalk out their own path.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
Today gifting industry is estimated to be at $30 billion of which personalized gifts comprise nearly 60% share.
Little Charms is a business solution to every urban parent’s need of buying the most exclusive gift for their kid at special occasions like birthdays and festivals. We provide personalized gifting solutions for kids of age group 2-12 years doing exclusive designs of products like bags , backpacks , storage organizers , bath linen and room decor accessories. Our product range is made to fulfill the requirement of birthday return gifts , personal gifting and festival gifting for kids.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
Our product line has been a result of constant innovation and customization as per the clients requirements. A young kid’s mind needs inspiration and a creative environment to play, learn and grow. With a purpose to facilitate this, we started our line of personalized kids room decor. We do theme based designs concepts that can inspire young minds. Slowly as per the customer demand ,we have pivoted to providing gifting solutions across various price ranges to suit each pocket.
What is your life mantra?
I firmly believe that whatever happens, happens for good. Every situation has some opportunity hidden in it. It is up to me to identify it and then take it or leave it. My life shapes up as per my choices.
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Getting Started !! Yes , a mompreneur has enough reasons to stay back and not leave the comfort zone of staying at home. But to make the choice of getting into the rigorous test of being an entrepreneur was my goal and the biggest challenge was to let to go of all my apprehensions and getting started.
How did you overcome those challenges?
By taking baby steps. I had the future vision but I also knew that I will build on to it slowly.Every little leap I have taken was one at a time without losing my control. If ever I have taken impulsive decisions , they have not turned out well. So to plan and prepare for the next leap is how I overcome my challenges.
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.
My venture has been completely bootstrapped. I might be looking for funding in few months from now but most importantly I seek a co-founder who is as passionate about his or her domain of expertise as I am for mien.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
I believe in giving to my staff full ownership of the job they are entitled with. I also don’t mind sharing the problem area or road block I am facing with them. This way at times we are able to find the solution together consequently making them a part of the organization all the more.

The constant urge of doing something at all times.
If I find myself not doing anything, it is no good to me. So I try to find an activity to keep myself busy. But I think, it should be fine at times to just breathe the air!! I am not able to sit idle. I would like to change that.

Fearing Failure – One should not be afraid of failure. Every action has equal chances of either failing or succeeding. So while we should be striving for success , we should be prepared for failure.
One most important lesson that you have learnt till now:
To be a game changer you have to be a go getter. Make your presence felt. Each and every action of yours has to have an agenda.
What are your plans for next 3 years?
- Expanding the product offerings of Little Charms by partner alliances.
- Taking our business global.
- Starting a chain of entertainment zone for kids across various cities of India.
If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?
I would start earlier. I had taken a long break to be with my kid. If gotten a chance I would have reduced that time period.
