“They aimed to make it big in the healthtech segment and their determination and perseverance made them achieve the same. This is a story of three young entrepreneurs who came together to launch a revolutionary startup. Ankit, Anupam and Narendhiran are BITS Pilani graduates and have worked with different organisations in the past. While Ankit and Anupam worked at Ola before starting FitGo, Narendhiran was engaged with another on-demand service provider Mywash.in.
All three of them founded FitGo as a Diet food delivery service. They want to make requirement-tailored food consumption a part of consumer lifestyles to ensure maximum health issues are actually taken care of just by following appropriate diet schedule.”
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
FitGo.in (Finphy Nutritech Pvt. Ltd.) is India’s first and only result-oriented diet food delivery company started in September 2015 and currently operational in selected neighborhoods of the Bangalore. We aim to bridge the seemingly increasing gap in healthcare and foodtech spaces using nutrition science expertise. We provide nutrient controlled meal deliveries that support different health and fitness goals like weight management, stress management, cholesterol control, diabetes control, etc.
Our subscription-based meal plans are chalked out by certified dieticians, health coaches across Bangalore and are supported by fitness experts’ recommended workout schedules. We want to make requirement-tailored food consumption a part of consumer lifestyles to ensure maximum health issues are actually taken care of just by following appropriate diet schedule.
We are talking to best nutritionists in Bangalore and have already collaborated with a couple of dieticians having rich experience of working in organizations like WHO and UNO. We are building a world class technology platform along with an in-house kitchen facility to enable our partner nutritionists and health coaches extend their services to a far wider audience, bundled with portion controlled and nutrient optimized meal deliveries.
We have served 500+ diet meals in our one-month pivot period over a limited geography and at the same time have also completed 3000+ executive meal deliveries to help public get a peek into what we promise – healthy, tasty food with a planned result.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
A healthy life starts with healthy food but amid our busy lifestyles, planning and preparing for appropriate diet takes a back seat which is when problems start to creep in. 7 out of 10 working professionals in Bangalore are overweight and, what is more, disturbing is 40% of working population here is obese. Studies show that a significant section of the urban population has vitamin deficiency, which leads to its own share of problems. All this can be attributed to poor lifestyle, rough eating habits, consumption of processed junk food, and unavailability of nutrient-controlled and requirement-tailored meals in ready-to-consume format. Having faced all these problems while working in different corporate setups, we decide to put in our share of efforts to bridge this requirement availability as much as we can.
