Dhruv has always been driven by ingenuity and a knack of building innovative products. He has an expertise in business development, business strategy, sales and startup management. After completing his bachelor of engineering in computer science from Maharashtra institute of Technology, he started his career working as a design engineer in the product development department.
However, he had entrepreneurship written all over him and he soon ventured into his first startup called Exclusive lane. It is a venture with a vision to maximize the use of Indian handicrafts and make it a mainstream product line in urban market thereby helping rural artisans and designers to display their skills and inherited art to different parts of the world.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
It was essentially my & Kaushal’s passion for art & craft category which eventually transformed into an online global platform for handpicked designers & artisans to showcase their unique merchandise in a better and bigger way. The birth of ExclusiveLane.com is an outcome of a personal experience as well. While I was renovating my house, I purchased a couple of home decor products from well-known brands but I was not impressed with the product and quality. Unfortunately, I could not find the options to buy décor & craft item across countries and noticed that the category is fragmented and much unorganized. On one hand, the offline space has a dearth of options and existence of fewer brands like FabIndia, Mother Earth etc. and on another hand, online space has no established brand in particular. Also, the products are quite sub-standard and have unpredictable price variation. These setbacks more or less further strengthened our decision to venture into the home décor & craft industry. It was finally during my road trip to Jaipur with Kaushal when we together saw the local décor & craft being created by small-time designers & artisans in their houses & local shops. This is where the idea to showcase their unique products & art on the online platform clicked to us. That’s how the journey of a 3.5-year-old home décor & craft startup came into being.
