Right after completing his post-graduation in business management, Brijesh started his entrepreneurial career by founding IndiaMart Intermesh. He has always been an enterprising person, finding ways to delivery efficiency via technology.
His biggest aim behind starting Tolexo was to take the buyer-seller collaboration to the next level where they can facilitate end-to-end transactions for office and industry goods. This would help SMEs build their brand when users buy their products and post reviews. Tolexo.com is run & owned by India Mart. Ever since its inception, Tolexo has attracted a substantial traction on its platform, with more than 3000 sellers and 5000 brands, spread across 28 categories.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
Tolexo.com is India’s largest online marketplace for business goods & supplies. The platform makes it easier for millions of businesses, from small to large, to buy & sell goods online, by providing technology & services that enable selection, payments, customer support & fulfillment – all as an integrated experience.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
Honestly, the lucrative market. We saw such a huge gap in the way businesses traditionally function and the way they ideally should. I frankly believe that we struck when the iron was hot.
What is your life mantra?
KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
The hardest part was the first few years of starting up. It was a challenge to get our product validated and get the first customer onboard.
How did you overcome those challenges?
Like every person who craves for success does – perseverance, passion & focus.
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.
Until now, Tolexo has been fully funded by IndiaMart and there has been no external investor.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
I believe that the most important thing that every talented resource is looking for is a challenge. As a company, upping the standards every now and then, pushing boundaries of achievement is what we believe in to keep the best of the brains.

Like I mentioned above, perseverance, passion & focus are most dominant of the factors that an individual compulsorily needs to possess to achieve success.

What are your plans for next 3 years?
In terms of milestones, firstly, we would want to be the leaders in the space. This space, which is nascent currently, will see a rapid J-curve like adoption within the next few years and we should be a direct beneficiary of that. From the visible trends in this space, we believe that B2B e-commerce is entering a transformative phase.
Living through a commercial revolution is big enough by itself; being in there and influencing it right at the start is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
