Suruchi Anand is a goal-driven person, who believes that every single day brings new lessons and one must implement these lessons in life in order to achieve success. She is an MBA in Finance & Marketing, and has served as manager at a multinational financial service company for more than 5 years.
She left her corporate job to start vLokal, a technology-oriented, Bangalore-based hyper-local delivery service that takes care of everything from pickup to drop on behalf of e-commerce businesses like OYO Rooms, Zo Rooms, Housejoy, and other such brands. Working with a team of skillful people, Suruchi has big plans for vLokal, and is positive about extending its services to pan India in next 3 years.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
vLokal launched its operations from Bangalore in Oct.2015. We combine hyper local logistics with customer care by integrating partner e-commerce platform into our IT infrastructure through an API to provide white label services. vLokal handles the complete life cycle of pickup, drop, cash on delivery etc., on behalf of the partner. Through our innovative model, partners save cost of running customer care and attain higher customer retention.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
vLokal has a unique combination of founders with varied skills and experience. The team has expertise in the areas of operations, technology and customer relations. This idea was conceived by identifying logistics as the high growth sector and by developing unique business model that can give us leadership position in this space.
What is your life mantra?
Collaborative, transparent and strategic oriented.
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Scaling the operations while being bootstrapped. Also, selling the concept of integrating partner ecommerce platform with vLokal IT infrastructure through API.
How did you overcome those challenges?
Our business model helps partner companies to focus on their core business while we handle their logistics and customer care. Our proven model has logged over 10,000 deliveries within first 3 months of launch in Bangalore and attained partner SLAs of over 99.00%. Many of the leading ecommerce companies like Doormint, Housejoy, Zo rooms, Tindipotu etc., are among our satisfied customers.
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.
vLokal has raised undisclosed amount of funding from Angel investor Pavan kumar and offered minor stake in the company. It will use this fund to build a strong customer care and technology team along with expansion of distribution centers all over Bangalore.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
