Sunil has always been an avid learner with a knack of going the extra mile to achieve a desired result. He has an expertise in software development particularly in JavaScript, JQuery and Ajax. He has completed his masters in software engineering. He started his career as a software engineer and gradually moved up the ladder of success undertaking several projects. He entered the startup arena by launching his own venture called Untumble. Untumble is a design house focused towards designing and manufacturing theme party supplies and specializes in birthday party supplies.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

We design and manufacture personalized theme party supplies be it a baby shower, retirement, engagement or birthday party. Our products/service is sold online and we ship across the country.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

Gap in the market. A friend wanted to celebrate a theme birthday for her twins and couldn’t find the required supplies for a complete theme party. We stepped in and the journey began!

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Converting a personal service into a product and scaling

How did you overcome those challenges?

People still relate birthdays to just balloons; our marketing push was more an awareness program, which has helped the community change as a whole. A lot of allied services have cropped up because of the awareness we brought about.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

We kicked off from a shared office and now have our own facilities. We are bootstrapped so far.

Have a large goal, small milestones and regular to-dos. Understanding your strengths & weakness, focus on your strengths and work on your weakness where required. You cannot be a master of all trades.

Failing to run when you can will set you back for a long time. Take the opportunity when you have it in hand.

What are your plans for next 3 years?

Improving our presence in India, acquire a few exclusive licenses from big players for themes like Marvel, Pixar and expand to other countries.

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

There are lots of decisions which could have been better and more mature at the early stage of m career but I wouldn’t be what I am now otherwise.
