Shreekant is a serial entrepreneur with several startups under his name. He has been in the startup industry for more than a decade. He specializes in marketing and creating strategy for a startup with special interest in Mobile Technology. He has a diploma in foreign trade and an MBA in marketing as well as organization strategy.
He started his career as media operations assistant in Yousendit and was among the first few employees there. He later ventured into the startup arena. His latest startup called Diabeto has already created a buzz in the technology arena. It is a non-intrusive Bluetooth powered hardware device, which enables the transfer of glucose readings from your Glucometer into your mobile device.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
Diabeto is a full stack startup which consists of hardware device that wirelessly transmits blood glucose readings from a glucometer into a smartphone app. These readings are then pushed remotely to a cloud server from where the readings can be analyzed by doctors and diabetes nurses.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
My parents are living with type 2 diabetes since 20 years and I have seen them struggle manage the diabetes with paper diaries. I thought, there should be a better way to manage diabetes with the help of technology and we came up with Diabeto
What is your life mantra?
When life gives you lemons, eat them, don’t over complicate things just for the heck of it.
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Building the hardware product
How did you overcome those challenges?
By being persistent.

We have raised from Startup Chile and Angel investors based in US and Spain.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
Attrition is a normal process and especially true in fast paced tech environment. The only thing which drives our best performing employees is the aim, almost everybody who works at Diabeto have their loved ones who are living with diabetes.
According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?
Persistence, willingness to fail and to go on and more persistence.

We use Asana, Bitbucket, Github and Twitter.
