Saurabh Garg started Velmenni as a co-founder since it appealed to his inner conscious of building some cool hardware. An MCA from Delhi University, he never had much interest in academics. He started doing freelancing during his graduation and by the time he started pursuing his post-graduation, he was already running his own company building software solutions for clients. But when he came across the idea of building sophisticated hardware that could revolutionize our day to day lives, he jumped the bandwagon without any hesitation.

Saurabh and Deepak used to design different products like traffic light down-counters, vehicle tracking systems, home automation solutions etc. for bigger companies to sustain themselves as they bootstrapped their venture on the side. But their desire to work on their own project was looming ever since. Now the duo plans of attaining higher success and getting even more global. According to Saurabh, the aim of their company is to enrich lives of consumers by the way of affordable technology.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

Our product Jugnu is a technology that can transfer data at high speed using visible lights. Think of all the places in the world using LED lights. Now think of a technology that can be augmented an LED to transfer data just like Wi Fi. That’s our technology.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

Initially we were building small but sophisticated hardware products. One of these products was a smart LED bulb whose brightness and intensity could be remotely controlled by any smart phone using radio waves. Our idea evolved from that.

What is your life mantra?

Giving back to the community by the way of affordable technology.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Building a working solution within the confines of time and significant amount of pressure.

How did you overcome those challenges?

Strong support and mutual understanding between the founders.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

We keep the work engaging and fun. There are no enforcement policies such and the team is very supportive of each other.
