Sahil Vora is a graduate in Bachelors of Business Administration with a major in Finance from NMIMS University (Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce). He prefers educating himself constantly and works simultaneously on many projects, which is why he works part-time along with his studies. Being a passionate entrepreneur, Sahil co-founded many startups, including Moussestruck and Noted with most recent being Giftract, which combines the use of a smartphone with emotions to create and gift an app. It enables a user to use creativity to design the app using the existing templates.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

Giftract combines the use of a smartphone with emotions to create and gift an app. You can use your creativity to design the app using the existing templates, or choose your own theme. An obvious question is, you can always make a video montage, so why build an app? Because an app does all this – and much more. Hide your messages behind the questions selected by you. Ask your friends a riddle, give them a countdown or send them on a treasure hunt, the list of possibilities is endless. You can also challenge your friends by creating games with levels of difficulty and wishes to be unlocked at every stage. After all, what can be more personal than your own app?

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

It started a year ago when my partner and I were looking for farewell gifts for our friends. We realized that gifts like perfumes don’t communicate what we feel about that person, whereas we are not creative and crafty enough to make a card by ourselves. Hence the idea of making gifting interactive, personalized and portable came into existence. All inside a mobile app.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Explaining the product to our customers.

How did you overcome those challenges?

By keeping our communication as clear and attractive as possible. Like by videos and beautifully designed website.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

We work like a group of friends and family. Everyone is very comfortable with each other. We have a mix of part time and full time team members depending on the working style and need of the job role.

According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

One must be Patient
Should be able to take criticism
Never give up

Which online tools/ services/ apps do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

We use mailerlite for communication, it’s a great handy tool. Canva can help you if you don’t have anyone in graphic designer. Google webmaster and analytics to know where you are getting the traffic from.
