Ingenuity and downright modesty often do not go hand in hand but when we talk about Pawas Jain, one can easily see both together. He started his journey as a Chartered Accountant, but his eagerness to become an entrepreneur was clearly visible in his early days. He founded Springtide in 2011, which started as an online youth portal magazine but was later transformed into an open blogging platform. He always had a close bond with writing and digital media. He is also a prolific blogger and guest columnist for Tech Portal.

Even though his main job was related to accountancy, he worked closely with many startups, which increased his zeal to start a venture of his own. He also worked as a financial consultant providing end-to-end financial services to start-ups and young entrepreneurs right from company incorporations to bookkeeping. This is where the journey of Blue Box Media started with a sole objective of bringing the youngsters across India on a common platform. Pawas currently manages the financial aspect of Blue Box Media as CFO. It has several online media properties under its belt. It also provides branding solutions for start-ups and businesses.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

We are a digital media startup located in Jaipur, India who have created never-seen before digital media platforms in India. Blue Box Media Pvt. Ltd owns few of the best media properties like thetechportal.in, The Digital Network. We also have an in-house video platform, which is in Beta version of testing. few other products are in pipeline like India’s first, 5 minute daily tech news show, called “The Tech Report” and India’s first REAL-TIME COMPETITOR ANALYSIS ENGINE.

What is your life mantra?

India does not have a globally recognized and popular digital media house of its own. Everyone, right from the government, talks about a Digital India, but we cannot truly bring out the true essence of going digital when 81% of our population still does not have an access to internet.

We want to take news and content to each and everyone and make it available for easy access. We want people to read, read and read more on the web because certainly, digital content is the next big thing.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Taking our product to the people and making them acquainted with our work was the most difficult part. No advertising or marketing can achieve that until and unless you are truly convinced about your product.

How did you overcome those challenges?

We were very sure about what we are building – A Digital media house that can have a global presence. Majorly we wanted to make the world accessible to Indian audience. Once we had the confidence and surety about our work, we were good to go!

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

We have raised two rounds of funding so far and our company is valued at over 1 million INR and its just the beginning for us, as it has only been 10 months of operations so far.

Since we are a web based company, WordPress is the most powerful tool at our disposal. Rest assured, social media is something that can take you places!

Expanding my current start-up and venture into more diversified products. Instead of being stagnant with one business, the focus is on growing into several areas.

Till now, it has all been according to the plan. I don’t wish to change anything.
