The same is the story behind Pankaj Garg who has always been an enterprising person with a view that if have a desire to achieve something then the path is clearly laid out in front of you. He has an expertise in key account management, sales, operations and business development.
After completing his post-graduation in Sales and marketing, he started his career as head of sales in a pharma company. However, some family matters brought him face to face with a situation where he started to mull the idea of starting his own company. This is where Wet and Dry personal care was launched. Within a span of few years, the company has expanded its customer base to over 31 countries.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
Wet and Dry Personal Care Pvt. Ltd. (W&D) offers products to fulfill the unheard need of women. At present W&D offers two brands “everteen” & “barever”. Everteen has intimate care products in its portfolio which include Everteen Natural Intimate Wash, Everteen Vaginal Gel and newly launched Everteen Natural Intimate Hygiene Wipes. Another brand in W&D portfolio “barever” offers one product Barever Natural Hair Inhibitor that gives permanent freedom from frequent hair removals.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
A simple & common vaginal infection which almost led my wife to commit suicide. She was not able to conceive for a very long period and developed mental stress due to social pressure. Endless visits to Gynecologists and to every other specialist across the country as recommended by friends and family members but no one could detect the actual problem.
That was the time when I realize that women do suffer from vaginal infections but do not take it seriously. This ignorance or one might call unawareness can even turn a woman infertile as was the case with my wife. The stage was set to do the most difficult job of educating a woman about her vaginal health & hygiene which is still considered a Taboo in India to talk about. Everteen was born as India’s first 100% natural intimate care brand to ease out the silent pain of women and since last three years, it is making women happy not only in India but across the Globe.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
The most challenging part is to communicate and motivate the women about the complete practice of intimate hygiene as I mentioned earlier that it is a Taboo in India. A large number of women still use soaps or shampoo for intimate cleaning which is a wrong practice as soaps/shampoo contains harmful chemicals. The experts recommend that one should not use soaps or shampoo for the intimate area as it disturbs the pH balance of the intimate region. Lack of awareness and knowledge of appropriate practice for intimate hygiene is the main challenge. Having said that, the journey so far has been quite exciting and amazing feedbacks from our customers keep us going.
How did you overcome those challenges?
Content marketing, direct consumer connect through ground activities and continuous knowledge sharing is the tool used to overcome those challenges. The category is in the process of evolution so the efforts to overcome challenges are still on progress.

Personally talking to the consumers and getting their feedback is one routine which I still follow & enjoy from the day I got first customer and even today with global consumer base.

What are your plans for next 3 years?
In next 3 years, W&D plans to educate and make more & more women aware about the importance of intimate hygiene in India. Research for more intimate care products is underway and we shall be increasing our current portfolio from 6 SKUs to 22 in coming years
If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?
I would rather learn to code and become a tech entrepreneur.
