"Simple Living and High Thinking. "

UpdateLand primarily focuses on blogging and SEO. It has been on the web since September 2013.

Here I share tips and tricks that one can implement to grow his/her blog and make passive income from blogging.

UpdateLand is also popular for in-depth and honest reviews for products and services. Because it receives over 500,000+ monthly traffic, we provide a platform for exposure to almost any business (which is quality-focused and beneficial for our readers in some ways, of course).

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

My then-life was my biggest inspiration for me to get out of it.

My parents were living in villages and their lives were filled with struggles. I saw them working very hard in the fields.  Sometimes, I used to go with them. And, I hated it every time.

My mind and heart knew I didn’t want that life. And, I decided, I will put all the efforts and live a good life where money will not be the issue.

In my school life, I started spending more time with books (as I knew, study will change my life).

My digital marketing career started in 2011 as an SEO Executive (paying me 7000 INR).

I was not satisfied with that job as my work was focused more on copy-pasting stuff (social bookmarking and directory submission) and it was not helping me gain knowledge or learn anything new.

Even the money I was making was not sufficient. I wanted to help my family with their expenses and savings, but with 7000 INR this wasn’t possible.

So, I started working part-time as a freelancer with my day job to make some extra money.

But, I was not satisfied with freelancing either. While some months, I made huge money, others were completely dry. Moreover, I had to work according to the demands of the clients’ which wasn’t inspiring.

When I heard of blogging, I set up a website thru Blogspot. I used to write articles in my free time. Back then, I had no idea how I could make money with a blog, I had just heard of it.

One day, someone approached me to write about their product and paid me $$. The amount was good for me at that time.

This completely changed my career. I knew blogging could help me live the life I want. From that day onwards, I started spending more time on my blogs and less on freelancing.

In short, nothing “inspired” me to start a blog. It was just the craving to live the dream life which gives me a reason to wake up in the morning and work 12+ hours, according to my own will.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

In the earlier days, understanding On-Page SEO was the most challenging part of my journey. For now, it is time management.

According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

Consistency, patience, and the habit of observing others as well as the changes in their industry. Plus, nothing beats “implementation”. All of the ideas amount to nothing if not implemented.

What is your life mantra?

Simple living and high thinking.

Which online tools/ services/ apps do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

Here are some tools and services that I use daily:

  1. LastPass – To manage the passwords
  2. SEMrush – All SEO activities including keyword research, backlink analysis, spying on competitors, and so on.
  3. NordVPN – To change IP address.
  4. Google Analytics – Monitor the traffic on my blogs.
  5. To Do List – Make a list of tasks to get done daily
  6. Habits – Building good habits and keeping eye on self-improvements
  7. Canva – To design images for Instagram
  8. Photoshop – To design images for blog posts

Share any one habit which you think makes you more productive.

Concentrating on one thing at a time with a fully focused mind. It brings quality to my work. I am not a multitasker and I love it.

Share any one habit which you wish to change in yourself.

In one word, it is Procrastination. Many times, I delay things and put them off for later. This is what I wish to change.

What are your plans for the next 3 years?

I am not the person who plans things. I go with the flow and give 100% to whatever I do.

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

I should have invested money in Bitcoin much sooner. As for my blogs, I could have focused on covering a specific niche instead of broadening it out.

Also, I’d shift to Affiliate Marketing from day 1 instead of going with Adsense as I actually did. I’d also focus more on backlinks from Day 1.

What are your top three getaway destinations?

Eiffel Tower, London Eye, Goa.

Share a quote that inspires you the most.

“All power is within you; you can do anything – Swami Vivekananda.”
