Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

CVmill creates the world’s best resumes. Our mission is to help job seekers get noticed and stand out from the noise.

The CVmill resume is handcrafted and customized to suit your profile. We’ll take your boring old resume and transform it into a beautiful work of art that gets the most attention. With designs ranging from traditional to modern to creative and even with-or-without photos, there’s something for everyone available at CVmill.com

We also provide services such as: professional resume writing & linkedin profile makeover; and our special career-oriented workshops and weekend classes will begin near the end of the year.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

We noticed a common trend in the resumes that were being used by family, friends and a lot of other job applicants. Almost everyone was using the same look-a-like resume — they were all poorly designed, had very little structure and failed to effectively highlight what employers would have been interested in.

We also noticed that as soon as an employer or recruiter saw a well designed resume, they always offered compliments and that connected very well with our mission.

What is your life mantra?

Begin each day as if it were on purpose; and always be grateful – even for the littlest of things.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Dealing with times when cash flow was painfully low, and still having the determination to not give up.

How did you overcome those challenges?

By staying positive, and tenacious.

I believe tenacity is one of the fundamental differences between those who startup and those who don’t. We simply do not get discouraged – even when everything around you is falling apart.

We launched CVmill in mid-2015. So far, this is a self-funded startup. We’ll begin actively seeking investors by 2016 for our first round.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

CVmill is a fun place to work. We’re dealing with an interesting challenge so the environment is always motivating.

We also have our CFO (Chief Fun Officer), our favorite Labrador, Caesar, who makes sure that no one goes home feeling unloved!

One tip to success:

Have a good story. And make it authentic. Everyone loves a good authentic story.

Whether you’re applying for a job, or creating a startup — a good story helps people connect to your mission.

One mistake you believe every individual must avoid:

We tend to fall in love with our ideas. It’s important to go out and test them as quickly as possible. Remember: Fail fast, fail cheap.

One most important lesson that you have learnt till now:

Panic doesn’t help. When things don’t go as planned, admit what went wrong, breathe, and start again.

What are your plans for next 3 years?

Become the go-to-source for Resumes.

We also plan to establish an always-available hosted resume platform.

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

I would take the opportunity to begin looking for solutions to real world problems from an earlier age.

What are your top three getaway destinations?

  1. Goa, India
  2. Queensland, Australia
  3. Any place with hills
