"If you born poor , its not your mistake, But if you die poor its your mistake"

Gaurav Rana started his career while still a student in class 6th, by making and selling paintings at his hometown Sonf (a small village in Haryana). After his father suffered major financial loss, Gaurav started working as a hair stylist at a Salon while in 8th class.

His passion for studies made him secure 96.00% in class 10th and he went to pursue Automobile Engineering Diploma from Dayal Bagh Education Institute. From there he got placed in VE Commercial Vehicle. After a Year of training he got promoted as a Junior Manager and also started pursuing B. Tech.

His passion for startups made him conceptualize Calipso, which is a beauty and well being services provider where people can book their appointments through website/call/app anywhere whether it is salon or doorstep.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

Calipso is a beauty and well being services provider where people can book their appointments through website/call/app anywhere whether it is salon or doorstep. Our primary focus is to save time for every working professional who value time as money. Our motto is to bridge a gap between best beauty professionals and client. We have done tie ups with major salons available from minimum to premium range as suitable by our clients and we have our own experienced & well trained Beauty Professionals as well who are ready to provide hygienic, luxury and best services at client’s doorstep and use only branded products.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

The seed of the idea was sown at my house only. My mother worked as a beautician by home itself and she is well known for her work in the locality. She used to get contracts of marriages but that was limited to only those people who knew her or those who have heard about her through word of mouth. I always used to feel that there is some lacunae between the customer and service provider and I always wanted to complete the jigsaw puzzle. In today’s fast moving era, people are consistently running towards their goals. Be it the Gen Y or the Gen X, everyone is busy in their own world and are glued to their smart phones. Such is the craze that from cobbler to coat, from cab to chef, everything is available at the click of a button. Then why go the old school way when it comes to salon services? With this thought in mind and also my personal experience as a hairstylist in my straggle days I lead to initiate an idea in beauty and wellness sector.
