Dr. Nishchal Gowda has received several accolades for brilliance as an entrepreneur. His venture Adwog.com is one of its kind and is acknowledged greatly as it the first ever marketplace to offer broad house purchase value chain for new projects. It was initially rejected by users as well as builders when Nishchal launched it in 2014 for testing response. He decided to redesign everything and re-launched with 200 projects. Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

Adwog.com is an exclusive market place for Builders/Developers and being the first to offer complete “House Purchase Value Chain Solutions” for Buying & Selling of Residential New Projects. We focus on Tier-2&3 Cities across India to create brand beyond the crowded Tier-1 Cities.

Launched in August, 2014 to test the market and got rejected by Users & Builders/Developers. With only first 200 Projects in our database & the valuable market feedback, we redesigned the product, recruited & trained highly talented Customer Support, Data collection & Quality team. The whole activity took exactly 6 months to prepare for our next launch.

Adwog.com with a complete new look and advanced features as Version 1.0 is launched in March, 2015 and had a great acceptance by Users as well as Builders/Developers. Yes, this time it worked.

At present, 3,000+ Builders & Developers with 11,000+ Residential New Projects in 150+ Tier 1, 2 & 3 cities of 26 States across India are using our services.

Successful in getting many prominent & established names in real estate industry across India. Well appreciated by users as well as Builders/Developers for the UI/UX design. Product is live & having RI & NRI visitors across India & other Countries, generating leads for projects.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

I started my Real Estate company in 2012 with Residential Plot Project in Mysore (Outskirt) and struggled a lot to get good visibility for my project as the Online Property Portals with Buy, Sell, Rent, Lease & PG options and 100+ Inventories offering everything to everyone including Brokers network and the major focus is on Tier-1 cities.

In short – No portal in India is associated with a particular service offering, specifically focusing on Buying & Selling of Builders/Developers Projects and to offer Search/ Showcase property option at Tier 2&3/BOP/District level.

So, we founded Adwog.com to be a “Fraternity of Builders/Developers” and to Bridge Buyer & Seller.

What is your life mantra?

Be Positive. That’s what my blood says…

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

“An Entrepreneur is someone who jumps off a cliff, and builds a plane on his way down” – Reid Hoffman, Executive Chairman of Linkedin.

Little crazy but this is the Fact.

Leaving a key position & the financial stability what my previous job provided me after working very hard to reach that level, jumping off the cliff and risking everything was a great challenge. Moreover, getting right talents who shared conviction and the same zeal was challenging too..

How did you overcome those challenges?

Risks never did steer me away from pursuing entrepreneurship. Instead, i saw them for what they are: necessary obstacles on a greater path. There’s no way i avoided the risks i face as an entrepreneur, but by recognizing them, i prepared for and i did mitigate them. We handpicked people who had the right skill set and also shared the same passion and vision as we do. Today we are a team of very talented 30.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

So far it is Bootstrapping. We are now looking for the Angel Investor/VC’s.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

Most of the Startup companies will have the High attrition rates. We control it by hiring Fresh graduates who will work at-least for 1-2 years in their first job before they move on. Our secret sauce is to create equal opportunities for all to step up the ladder within the organization.

Work together as a team, contributing together and supporting one another openly and without ego or self importance. A win for all is a win. You will live a much better life if you just do it and pursue your passions. Those people who spend their time working on things they love are usually the ones enjoying life the most and also the ones who dared to take a risk and chase their dreams.

In entrepreneurship, running out of cash is the one thing to avoid at all costs.

To make Adwog.com a leader in providing complete House Purchase Value Chain solutions in India.

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

I believe things happen for a reason, in the way and order in which they were intended. If you believe this as well, then you would perhaps not want to change the sequence of your past as it defines and directs how you are today and the opportunities you are afforded.
