Dipti Shah has worked on integrated projects for multiple clients in the corporate sector as well as Weddings across India. She spends a lot of time
understanding client requirements and their constraints and deal with each project as unique and attention seeking.

With a Post Graduate Diploma in Events & Activation, she works in the capacity of the head of events & alliances, offering services in the fields of Corporate Events, Weddings, Personalized Celebrations and Special Events. Her latest venture called White Salt Entertainments has already made a name for itself in the event planning industry.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

White Salt Entertainments is a full-service experiential event management company based in Kolkata. We have a pan-India project footprint and also have a strong presence in Mumbai. Our sole objective is to provide customized solutions and 24×7 excellent support services on all event management and activation needs of our clients.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

I often wondered why excellent services always came at hefty pocket pinches. It kept ringing in my head and I just ran out of reasons why I should not step up and offer value for money services in my interest field – Events! I guess, my entrepreneurial instincts got me started and here we are – White Salt Entertainments!

What is your life mantra?

Live bold and bloom! The only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking the risk.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

To build a creative business from scratch – that was an uncomfortable zone. But like they say, the magic lies right there!

How did you overcome those challenges?

It’s important to understand the problem you are facing and prioritize. I knew I had to start from scratch and build a dream out of nowhere in an industry where I had nobody to guide me. I decided to launch my venture publically through an event and reach out to my city- Kolkata, to start with.

Eventually, I found myself trending on social media and White Salt Entertainments became a name synonymous with events and entertainment solutions in my city. This was our first challenge, successfully addressed!

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

The most enriching investments that have come to White Salt Entertainments, have been the confidence and appreciation of our clients. We take this as the underlying basis to deliver beyond their expectations and outperform ourselves with every event we take up.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

In the event industry, one has to be prepared for long working hours and expect the unexpected. I believe in giving my team and affiliates a sense of ownership and achievement. This brings out the best in them all and encourages them to work outside their comfort zones. You see, job satisfaction is as important as monetary compensations are, if not more! If they grow and evolve along with the company, they would be more than willing to stick around.

According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

Willingness to learn & grow Passion Self-Confidence, not to be confused with over-confidence!

Over the next 3 years, you would find White Salt Entertainments well placed in the BTL Activations & Luxury Brands-Event Marketing zones. Besides this, in the Social Events sector, we are are setting up destination events teams in various pockets of India.

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

I would network better with the HR Team that exit-interviews me when I quit my job to set out on my journey as Entrepreneur!
