A product of NIT Allahabad, one on India’s premium technology institutions, Deepak Bansal firmly believes that without hard work &perseverance great things cannot be achieved. He started his career at Wipro and then led the technical team at Samsung India for more than 8 years.

After garnering rich industrial experience at major corporates, Deepak Bansal realized ever since the internet, offline marketing has been on the constant decline, despite its huge impact and scope. All that is required from marketers is some creativity & innovation ad it would do wonders for brands. Thus, GingerCup was born.

To revolutionize the offline marketing with that little bit of creativity & innovation, Deepak came up with a unique plan of advertising through paper cups with brand’s name & their message (about service or offers).  His Bangalore-based initiative has been accepted in the local market quite positively and have already helped many brands in increasing their market reach.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

We provide new marketing media to our clients which has positive attributes of both current marketing forms(Online and Offline). GingerCup marketing solution uses Paper Cups as prime media for advertisement. It helps brands to engage with their customer for nearly 3-5 mins during tea breaks which is not provided by any other media. In addition to this, the client can plan GingerCup campaign keeping its target customers in mind ex. IT professionals, Colleges, Hospitals or Fitness centres etc (like in digital marketing).

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

Creativity & Innovation. These 2 things are taking world left and right in almost every field. When we talk about offline marketing campaign these 2 words are rarely seen or talked. We thought we can bring a big change in Offline marketing channels if we start incorporating these words.Our marketing solutions which we provide to our clients are not only high on ROI but also engaging because of creativity in our media of advertising. We convert tea breaks in offices/colleges or any others place for that matter ,a discussion joint of our clients.       

What is your life mantra?

Keep Going with eyes, ear and mind open.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

The biggest challenge for us is a century-old problem , CATCH 22. Advertiser clients need vast reach to promote their product and services , to get that reach we need more (consistent) advertisers.

 How did you overcome those challenges?

We have 2 teams working for exclusive tie-ups with vendors and Advertisers respectively. As per business requirement we switch role very fast and maintain equilibrium.

 Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

Recently we have been funded by OLA and Google Senior Executives but their major role is to guide /mentor and layout future roadmap for GingerCup success path.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

We take smart people who have a long-term vision and also guts to survive in early years of startup.

 According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

1) Never stop, 2) open for new opportunities and 3) never repeat the same mistake again.
