After completing her MBA in marketing and HR from MITSOM Pune, she started her career as a recruitment executive. Her latest venture, Aboutmyclinic is a digital patient engagement platform for doctors. AboutMyClinic.com is our first offering in this direction, which re-creates the exclusivity, & personalization in doctor-patient relationship on a scalable digital platform.  It allows doctors to engage with patients in a more real-time manner without location constraints.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

AboutMyClinic.com is a pioneering & highly customizable digital platform created for doctors by doctors. The platform lets any doctor irrespective of technical skills, set up his/her own personalized responsive (mobile-friendly) website in few minutes. The website comes equipped with high-quality health information repository which is made up of content curated from world’s best medical resources and presented in patient-friendly language and formats. Doctor can add his own patient-education resources to enrich this repository further. This makes doctor’s website a one-stop, comprehensive virtual-information assistant for his/her patients. Patients can also ask questions, consult remotely, send enquiries or book appointments through doctor’s own website and track all communications through secured patient account. Not only this, doctors can use AboutMyClinic.com to automate & personalize day-to-day updates for patients & peers ensuring continuous engagement.

AboutMyClinic.com is available as SaaS for doctors & free for patients.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

Today’s patients undergo ‘information-intervention’ much before they undergo medical intervention. They wish to know from their doctors, everything about their health or sickness, diagnosis or prognosis, treatment or prevention, risks or benefits etc. Most doctors have an intent but not adequate time or tools to educate patients to a level of their satisfaction. While the internet is a powerful medium for doctors to offer information intervention to patients, existing online solutions only list the doctors and focus on mere doctor discovery by patients. Such listings are static and do not help doctors engage their patients in a personalized manner. This huge unmet need, which directly affects both doctors & patients and affects doctor-patient relationship, inspired us to conceive & develop AboutMyClinic.com

What is your vision and how do you plan to achieve it?

Our vision is to humanize healthcare technology. Technology is changing status quo in every sector, and healthcare is not an exception to it. However, healthcare is inherently human in nature and there is interplay of complex human factors at every stage in care continuum. Therefore, for any technology offering in healthcare to become successful, it needs to be personalized and adapt itself around these human factors. We intend to achieve our vision by developing digital products & services which are highly personalized at the same time scalable. AboutMyClinic.com is our first offering in this direction which re-creates the exclusivity & personalization in doctor-patient relationship on a scalable digital platform.

What is your life mantra?

Keep experimenting till magic happens. I adopted it from my husband!

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

The most challenging part of a startup is getting the right people to work for you. When I say ‘right’, I mean more than just right talent. You need people with right values which are in alignment with your vision. We experienced this challenge much early in our journey. However, when you are determined to face challenges and enjoy them, no challenge is difficult to overcome. So today, we do not just have a great team, but a right team!

How did you overcome those challenges?

When you face any challenge you need to choose when & how you are going to respond to it. Both, type & timing of response are key to outcomes. In our case, we made tough calls quickly and never stopped looking out for the right people until we got them.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

We are a bootstrapped startup with significant milestones achieved on our own capital. We have paying customers and a huge market opportunity to tap into. Therefore, we will now be actively looking for investors or funds, which are healthcare focused.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

People don’t leave the company but leave bad managers! I myself experienced this in my stint in the corporate world. So, from day one we had decided to be a people-focused startup. Once we hire the right people, we trust them fully and not get into micro-managing things. We set high benchmarks and empower them towards final outcomes. We exchange honest & timely feedbacks and assess each other’s actions in the context of our values frequently. While, a startup cannot avoid frequent brain drain, the greatest satisfaction comes when the ‘brains’ that leave, call you and say, “They really miss working with you!”

According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

What are your plans for next 3 years?

Within next 3 years, we see AboutMyClinic.com clearly emerge as a preferred platform for healthcare providers for their patient engagement & practice promotion needs. As of now we are present in 25 cities across India and within next 3 years, we will be present in 100 cities. We will be launching first of its kind & highly relevant doctor discovery tool for patients along with mobile applications soon.

I would believe & take my dreams & ideas more seriously.
