Deep Malhotra did his Masters in Commerce from R.A. Podar College, Mumbai University. Later, he went to pursue MBA in Advertising & Communication from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. Over the years, he has accumulated vast experience by working for companies like Rediff.com, Google, Fox Interactive Media, and more.

With over 13 years of entrepreneurial & startup experience in setting up & building companies like Google, Fox Interactive Media, Rediff.com, and more, Deep conceptualized BECK friends, which is a global peer-to-peer marketplace for sending anything anywhere economically with an opportunity to earn.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

BECK Friends enables you to send anything anywhere in the world through the peer- to -peer network and also helps you earn as you travel.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

We always hear people say that technology has made the world shrink. We just wanted to take this to the next level by enabling transportation of things from one place to another anywhere in the world through technology. We have always believed in offering convenience enabled by technology to our customers, and that is the core of the business.

What is your life mantra?

Never give up till it is done and in-case you are cornered with your back against the wall break the God damn thing down.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

The challenge in a user facing network based website is to keep it highly functional and yet very simple. That is a challenge we face as we increase features in the service. The task is to keep the number of clicks minimum while gathering all relevant information to make the whole process work well.

How did you overcome those challenges?

Our biggest plus point is that we have the design and technology team both in-house as Co-Founders. All of us being on the same page and being able to tweak the product quickly, gives us high adaptability to the ever changing user needs and feedback.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

The Business is currently bootstrapped.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

By ensuring the tech, strategy & operations are all part of the business equally and have equal stakes invested.

According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

Belief, Perseverance, Passion and in that order!

Belief & Passion ignite the fire, but Perseverance is the most important oil that makes sure that the fire keeps burning for success.

Which online tools/ services/ apps do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

Google analytics, Google Maps and Google Adwords are my saviors!

Writing down things that want to achieve in the day. Have been doing it since my college days and is very effective to make the day productive.
