There are many people who love their pets, but Bhupendra’s passion for pets is remarkable. This is evident in his startup Dogsee Chew, India’s number one brand for dog products that offers organic food for dogs with the assurance of a healthy treat with high protein and less carbohydrates.

A serial entrepreneur, Bhupendra is a NIT Durgapur graduate and fluent in 4 languages. He started his career as a business analyst with major brands before starting his entrepreneurial journey in 2007, which has brought him constant success so far. Dogsee Chew is his latest entrepreneurial endeavor that is also most dear to him. Already, India’s number brand in its category, Bhupendra wants to put Dogsee Chew among world’s top ten brands in next 3 years.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

We manufacture and sell high quality, all natural dog chews under the brand name Dogsee Chew. We bring healthy, organic food for dogs – a healthy treat with high protein & less carbs. We offers Yak milk based dog chews, which naturally helps dogs in keeping their teeth clean.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

I am an avid pet lover and a pet parent and I have always been worried about the quality of products for pets. My passion to build Dogsee chew comes from bringing quality revolution in India. This is the reason we are India’s only high quality, human grade dog treat company and we plan to remain the same.

What is your life mantra?

Do something that can bring real change in the World, and with this product we are not only giving healthy option for dogs, we are also creating employment in the many rural areas of India and Nepal.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

We manufacture and sell Dogsee Chew treats that are smoked cheese made from Yak milk. Setting up supply chain from about 5k metres height in the hills was very challenging but was equally fun too.

How did you overcome those challenges?

We used a semi ownership concept of sourcing model that village consortiums make for us and we manage it using full time staff and outsourced partners. We have also set-up storage facilities in several places to facilitate the supply chain.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

We have raised INR 2 Crore in angel funding from two HNIs – Jyotshna Bapat and Renu Balyan.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

So far we have not fetched the issue of attrition. We hire people who are passionate about dogs and they are with us for more than money.

According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?

Passion and dedication. Everything else can be acquired.

Which online tools/ services/ apps do you use the most and would like to recommend as well?

We use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, WhatsApp, Skype etc, and use of application depends on use case. We use Whatsapp for most of our communication in the hills and with sales channel partners. We use Facebook primarily for internal communication. I feel, you should use what appeals you the most.

What are your plans for next 3 years?

This year we are expanding portfolio to biscuits and treats from Chews, and going global. In 3 years, we want to be one of the top 10 players in our category globally and No 1 in India.

If you get a chance to start your career again what would you do differently this time?

I will be more forceful in applying the decisions I take.

What are your top three getaway destinations?

Dubai, Singapore and Switzerland.
