What is your life mantra?

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

As Indian’s, we have traditionally always valued education as an asset. Our education system is largely designed to prepare us for our future careers. The biggest challenge is that neither the parents nor the teachers know what exactly we are preparing for. For Instance, there are more than 150 Engineering Careers and the parent is simply unaware of them all, considering that the child has the necessary quotient required to be a successful engineer, even then the chances of choosing the right engineering career is bleak without proper counseling. The importance of career counseling is known to everyone, however surprisingly less than 10% parents actually end up consulting a professional psychologist or career counselor before deciding on their child’s career. The mindset challenge was undoubtedly the biggest challenge that we face today. Nonetheless, there is a silver lining to the cloud and we are witnessing change at the grass root level which will definitely help in making career counseling essential for each child in the longer run.

How did you overcome those challenges?

We found it extremely tough to make ends meet during the initial days of Brain Checker. In 2012, we were struggling to appoint franchises and convince parents the importance of career counseling at early age. We wanted to grow steady and focused on quality rather than quantity in the early days. Once we surmounted the first year challenges, things started shaping up.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

With around 54% of Indians below the age of 24 as per the 2011 census, we have 60 Crore prospective clients in the market. We are always open to discuss funding opportunities with prospective investors

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?

Brain Checker is an emerging start-up. We have tried to nurture one company-one family culture in our employees. Over the years we have understood that, people don’t love jobs if they don’t love their boss. We have 100% satisfaction when it comes to loving what we do, simply because we have flat line organization structure, promotions happen every quarter, we stand united if a employee needs any help or assistance in his personal life as well.
