In the current market dynamics, young Turks have found the vitality of internet in bringing day-to-day items closer to users with a click of a button. This is where the story of an IT professional Ankur starts, who aimed at bringing the most popular snack of India closer to the lives of the people. After working as a systems engineer with TCS for more than 4 years, Ankur took an aim at his first startup called Dialyummy.com, an e-commerce start-up offered access to instant restaurant deals.
However, there was more to the entrepreneurial stint of Ankur, which was yet to be revealed. Few months down the line, he went on to launch another online portal called Namkeenwale.in; an online website sells authentic Ratlam namkeen. Thanks to his IT industry backing and training, Ankur did not face any hassle in the technical aspects of the portal. His dedication and eager to become successful delivered an impeccable product that has given an authentic Ratlam taste to many online users within India.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
Idea lies in delivering Authentic Regional Snacks and sweets to door steps with an easy online e- Commerce Portal. It serves regional specialties in Namkeens, Sweets, Spices etc which are sourced from suppliers located in different parts of the country. The handpicked select sources from different parts of India are made available through the website; breaking their regional geographies.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
Brought up in the land of namkeen, I always had the foodie cravings and was very particular about taste. When I moved out from the Malwa Region, I started missing the same flavor, the taste, the fragrance, and the aroma of the food. And there came the idea of Namkeenwale. This is what drove me to provide a platform for online delivery of regional savories to doorsteps.
What is your life mantra?
Don’t just be passionate but have persistence as success doesn’t’ come that easy. Plan and execute soon, failure won’t kill you and most importantly be honest to your work and people around you. (always remember your team is your most valuable asset that doesn’t reflect in your balance sheet).
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Fresh out of college I had a Job in hand with an IT Major where I worked like any other regular guy and life was pretty stable. The decision to pursue something different and moving to an altogether new city where I had to start everything from scratch was one of the difficult phase.
How did you overcome those challenges?
I strongly believe that if you stay focused on the solutions and fight for the right amount of time, you can overcome what you set to achieve.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
It is part and parcel of the game, and that’s what business leaders are for. Being at the helm of all affairs it’s our job to create new leaders.
According to you, what are the three qualities an individual must have to achieve success?
1) Be honest to your dreams.
2) Be persistent.
3) Do not get distracted.
