Jewellery is often said to be the soul of every female. However, Ankita took her love for Jewellery to a completely new level by starting her own startup. From a very small age, Ankita has always been passionate about jewels and art. According to her peers, she is hardworking and dedicated person. She has an eye for creativity, which is visible from her work. Her startup Zevarani aims to change the cliché that Jewellery is expensive and often out of the reach of the common person.

She designs and crafts each piece with my heart and soul in it. She personally chooses each little thing herself and creates wonderful designs out of it. She makes sure to put the best quality stuff to cater art lovers. Within a short span of time, she has attained huge following of artistic Jewellery lovers.

Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

We design and create exquisite artificial jewelry using various types of metals, stones, beads, cords, chains etc. This jewelry if often termed as tribal or junk jewelry. However, I would like to call this as art jewelry because the designs we create are completely customized based on our instincts and buyer’s needs. At the same time, I would like to beat the taboo that this type of jewelry is expensive, I would want to see people wearing these items in very affordable price range.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

My passion towards art-work and interest in fashion trends motivated me to design and create stuff which is unique and carries value for art lovers. So, I accumulated some hard-to-find material and stared creating various designs. I started ZEVARANI to provide exquisite items in affordable prices, customize them as per buyer’s interests and designs. Currently, we are only into various types of jewelry, but I would like to expand into various forms of products which has a hint of art in them.

My motive is to create value for its lovers and promote the art of handcrafted jewelry..

What is your life mantra?

No life without passion; have the courage to follow your heart.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Firstly, time. Time is a major challenge, once you are doing something of your interest, you are always short of time. Secondly, my family has always been concerned about the deviation and distraction from a regular carrier. So, it hasn’t been easy to put the thoughts together and start Zevarani. Thirdly, difficult to deal with the dealers and communicate with them and make them understand our requirements. However, it has also been one of the key lessons learnt about dealing with people from various backgrounds.

How did you overcome those challenges?

Its been difficult to overcome the ‘time’ challenge, I am still struggling to figure out multiple things due to lack of time. But, I never get tired if it’s about Zevarani. Family has been providing great support.

Regarding investments, we took a very calculative approach in the beginning and scaled-up cautiously. Idea was, do not compromise on the quality and ethics to make it big.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

Initial Investments have been made by us. We haven’t reached out to any VCs yet and want to build this further on our own. Might look for investments while scaling up.

How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
