Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.

CheerKart.com stands for Indian art and craft. Not only can one find virtual means to buy real Indian Gifts but also can shop for Indian Couture at the most reasonable price. Starting from Bastar arts from Chattisgarh to Rajasthani decorative and furnishing, there is a plethora of items one can choose from. Then comes crochet art in the form of eco-friendly soft toys in varied sizes and kids accessories which are also custom-made as per customers requirements. Semi stitched Anarkalis, Handloom and designer sarees, semi stitched cotton suits, designer kurtis are a few amongst many that are available with the list only growing every day.

What inspired you to build the above product/ service?

When i moved out of Mumbai in 2010, i was lost without the big malls and its variety. That’s when i indulged totally into online shopping for all my needs. I realized then that there lies a huge opportunity for typical handicraft and typical Indian Art. Thus came the idea to step into this segment and create a one stop shop for all kinds of Indian items and provide a platform for artisans and craftsmen in India.

What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?

Everything that came my way so far has been an enriching experience. There are two aspects to any business today, people and technology. Technology you can master with time, but people have their own minds. So its been tough at times dealing with the diversity of human minds.

How did you overcome those challenges?

I feel there’s no better way to deal with people than having an open one to one conversation. That works for me and helps me decide my next action after i have identified the root cause.

Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.

We haven’t really sought out for an investment yet. It’s a self funded venture till now.

The most important qualities one should have is perseverance, an eye for details, persuasiveness…
