Divya Aggarwal, a B-Tech in electronics from YMCA Institute of Engg & Technology always knew that doing something of her own is the ultimate goal of her life. Co-founding LaundryWala, which is an online laundry and dry-cleaning service of India happened out of that urge only. Her stint as principal software engineer at Spyglass helped her a lot in making her online venture a success. Laundrywala is an emerging brand and within a year of launch it has retained significant share of customers.
Divya as the leading contributor of company believes in planning and follows every action plane with single-mindedness. Having studied from the leading MBA institute of India, she specializes in management too. To learn more about her life-mantra and business philosophy, read her interview below.
Please provide a brief overview of your product/ service.
LaundryWala is your personal laundry concierge, freeing you from the scourge of the currently broken and taxing laundry process. We are solving 3 key pain points for you:
1) Deliver superior quality laundered clothes
2) At a time you want them, and
3) At your doorstep.
Our ‘self-owned and operated’ laundry unit in conjunction with our agile logistics team uniquely positions us to serve you. You can order for our services online or over phone, selecting the time you would like us to pick and deliver your clothes. Our logistics team will show up at these times, first collecting and then delivering your laundry. On the backend, we will have our laundry experts take your clothes through a 7-step laundry process to ensure that you get your clothes spick and span and are always confident about your appearance.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
Personal pain, when a local dhobi lost my favorite sari which i had to wear on my cousins wedding.This angst led me, along with my cousin, Chetan who completely empathized with me to launch what is now called LaundryWala.
What is your life mantra?
My Life Mantra has always been Stay Happy, Stay Healthy.
Post LaundryWala, it became Stay Happy, Stay Healthy and Stay CLEAN.
What was the most challenging part of your journey till now?
Finding people with right skill set who work as a team and not a group.Trust, competence and persistence is what we seek in our employees.
How did you overcome those challenges?
Investing time and not giving up.We explored every medium to get what we wanted.
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now.
We’re a self-funded Startup.
How do you protect yourself from the problem of Brain Drain?
Fortunately, we have not faced this challenge yet. We give credit to our transparent policies and employee centric environment.
